Exploring Paris is a very interesting activity, the city is beautifully designed, when you walk around it, you realize that it is very comfortable. Choosing a hotel in central Paris can be an exciting task, as it allows you to be close to the city's most iconic landmarks, cultural centers, and lively neighborhoods. The best option is to stay between the 1st and 9th arrondissements. You will be closer to the most famous places, including the central train stations, parks, gardens, cafes and restaurants, libraries and of course the beautiful Seine embankment.

Paris Structure

Paris has 20 arrondissements (municipal areas), numbered from 1 to 20 in a spiral starting from the center.

Each arrondissement is divided into 4 quartiers administratifs (neighborhoods or sub-districts).

Total quartiers: 20 arrondissements × 4 quartiers = 80 quartiers

Note: The "Latin Quarter" is a broader, more informal designation that spans parts of these official quartiers.


Useful Tips for Exploring Paris

  • Metro Navigation: Know your arrondissement number to find the nearest metro station quickly.
  • Walking is best: Central arrondissements are very walkable - bring comfortable shoes!
  • Look at street signs: Parisian street signs show both the street name and arrondissement number - very handy!
